The Mission Lanka (SML) Foundation is committed to the human rights of all ages in Sri Lanka. Simply because in that beautiful country, not everyone can express their opinions freely and without risk, or pursue a lifestyle of their own choosing. SML wants to raise awareness of this problem and contribute to peaceful solutions. We do this because we believe in freedom and are convinced that talking to each other is more effective than fighting each other.
We always act in accordance with the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and work with the international community to find solutions to human rights violations in Sri Lanka. We also train and protect human rights defenders, advocate for the rights of children and women, and represent the interests of journalists. Furthermore, we offer training in human rights and advocacy on law, the environment, and climate change. We work with impoverished people in Sri Lanka on the 17 points of the sustainable development process.
